We define a deliberate citizen as someone who carefully considers important political issues with a Christian worldview and intentionally elects leaders, encourages policies and exercises action in support of those positions.
Our purpose is three-fold: to utilize research centers and news sources to become informed on civic issues, to use our influence as voters and active community members to inspire change, and in turn, to inspire others to become deliberate citizens.
Our vision is to change the culture of New England by influencing leaders towards integrity, justice, and stewardship.
Mission:
1. To educate and motivate every citizen to exercise civic influence
2. To provide an avenue for Deliberate Citizens to have a larger collective voice in politics
3. To recruit, develop and support leaders who model Deliberate Citizen values
4. To empower citizens to hold leaders accountable for their actions
We accomplish this by
Simplifying the political involvement process
Hosting events that both educate citizens and influence leaders
Announcing important news through the Deliberate Citizens Website
Recruiting Deliberate Citizens coordinators in every town as an political action network
Encouraging citizens to provide vital local and state news to the Deliberate Citizen community.
The Deliberate Citizen organization is multifacited: Our goal is to have a Deliberate Citizen representative in every church and town in New Hampshire. To learn more about the Deliberate Citizen structure, see NH Towns
